We source our gifts from small companies & individual designers/creators to ensure that what we offer is unusual and very special. We do not stock mass-produced goods and you will be certain to find a really special gift, many of which you will not have seen before. We regularly buy from new companies and individuals so our stock changes throughout the year.
Our main product categories include sculptures, cushions, kitchen textiles, stationery & cards, prints, tableware, jewellery and decorative items. We also have a small selection of local-themed gifts depicting Thirsk, Yorkshire & the surrounding countryside. Hello. My name is Cath & I live in North Yorkshire with my husband & 2 cats.I have always had a love of animals & the countryside & trained in Recreational Land Management. After leaving college I worked in the gift departments of a few garden centres, including running the gift department of the flagship branch of Squires in Twickenham. After moving north & working in another garden centre I became disillusioned with the quality of foreign gifts we were selling, which were largely seen in many other gift shops. I decided to combine my love of animals with supporting companies & individuals creating British-made gifts, so opened my own gift business. I started trading from a small space within a shop in Ripon, which is a home for lots of independent businesses. After 2 years I was ready to take on my first premises and found a lovely little shop in Thirsk. It is an ideal fit for my products, being the historical home to James Heriott and now The Yorkshire Vet television series. I have recently opened an ecommerce store & look forward to selling my gifts around the country.
