When preparing for Christmas what else do you buy besides gifts and food? Cards, decorations, advent calendars, Christmas memory books, Christmas planners, wrapping paper and much more!!!
There are lots of extra Christmas bits and pieces. All of which come together to make Christmas special.
I absolutely love Christmas. The festive spirit, the excitement, the lights….I could go on, I love it all.
But pre-christmas also fills me with panic, until I have my list! Food, gifts, bits & pieces to buy, things to make, entertainment, etc.
From You To Me have created this brand new Christmas Planner and they have thought of pages for everything! Plus it has a very exciting festive design!!! I feel excited just looking at it.
From You To Me also have some wonderful memory journals, keepsakes and gifts. These are really lovely and such a special way to hold your Christmas memories.
I love their, oh so cute, personalised Penguin Place Names. But also check out their personalised place mats, personalised Childs Christmas Sack and personalised Dog Christmas Sack for your furry friend. Lots of other lovely products too on their Christmas page. Spoilt for choice.
Do you like a wreath for your door? Wiggly Wigglers have some gorgeous ones. Their Nordic Festive Wreath has caught my eye. They also have some lovely table decorations, Christmas themed bouquets, traditional festive garland and the all important mistletoe. You have to have mistletoe!!
For some magical Christmas candles how about these from the lovely Long Barn Home & Living. A set of 3 in Christmassy fragrances ideal for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. They come in a gift box so make the ideal gift too.
Gin!! Seems to be a favourite tipple at the moment. So why not have gin filled baubles. This brilliant idea comes from The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria. They have a number of different Christmas baubles with either gin, whisky or vodka. Plus gin crackers and a gin advent calendar. Know any gin lovers?
Are you sending them? Are you not and giving to charity instead?
I always send cards. I feel sending cards is a time to reflect on all the people important to you in your life and to send them a lovely card to let them know you are thinking of them, and vice versa.
There are some truly gorgeous cards out there this year and here are some very special ones.
Poppy Treffry cards are beautiful. I am also tempted by their cute decorations, very festive badges, a Christmas embroidered storage pot (perfect for sweets or nuts) and festive egg cosy. The Poppy Treffry Christmas page is worth a look.
Fox & Boo have some truly lovely card designs, The Highland Cow, The Penguins and The Traditional Stag. Such gorgeous designs and lovely quality.
To be spoilt for choice with card designs it is worth taking a look at Sophie Morrell. So many gorgeous designs. This is definitely the place for cute Christmas cards. There are also lots of notebooks, bags and home accessories all with the Sophie Morrell gorgeously cute designs.
Is gift wrapping an art? How creative are you with yours? I have found some wonderful wrapping paper to inspire you.
First up is the oh so unique, Brussels Sprout Gift Wrap from Hoobynoo. Love sprouts or hate them, you have to admit this paper brings a smile to your face.
How about some personalised stickers? I think these are a great idea from the wonderful Walter & May. Choose your design, colour and words. Add that little something to your gifts.
Simply Ribbons has a brilliant range of Christmas ribbons. Perfect for gift wrapping but also for all your creative Christmas makes. Sparkly, Nordic, Velvet, Hessian, and Traditional. If there is a particular ribbon you have in mind, looking at the massive range, I am sure Simply Ribbons will have it.
How about some Penguin Sticky Tape? I love this from the wonderful terri leahy. Also they have some unique shark skiing wrapping paper!!
We really do not like the chocolate advent calendars in our house, so we are always on the look out for something a bit different.
This advent biscuit tin is just brilliant from Biscuiteers. An advent tin crammed full with 24 perfectly decorated festive biscuits. Individually iced, each biscuit is an amazing Christmassy creation. I love them.
For the more traditional advent calendar I have found a lovely range at Made by Ellis. Some truly lovely designs which can be personalised too. They also have a lovely one to colour in each day.
I hope I have helped you find some Christmassy things that will add to the festivities, as you prepare for this magical time of year.
Shop Independent this Christmas, find unique, quirky and special in all that you buy.
I would love to see what you are buying from Independent Shops. Share it over in our shopping group where we are building a community of people who want to shop small. It would be lovely to see you there.
Merry Christmas and enjoy your Christmas preparations.
There’s lots more shopping inspiration from independent shops coming soon. I will be happy to send you a little note to let you know when the next one has been created.
Please be aware. All opinions in this blog post are mine. At the time of writing I have not received any payment or free samples from the shops mentioned. Though I mention lots of shops here, you must form your own opinion as to whether their products are for you.
I aim to include only independently owned shops. Sometimes it is tricky to work out if they are. So, as far as I can tell, they are independently owned, but apologies if the odd one that is not slips into my blog post….they hide it well!Tags: Christmas, Gifts, Shopping Inspiration
